Irvin W. Ausman, Sr., 80 of the Greenfield area went home to our lord on March 21, 2007.
He was born on June 8, 1926 at Norwood, Ohio to the late George and Ellie Day Ausman.
Irvin was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was also a member of V.F.W. Greenfield and the American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge. He was a Lineman for 27 years with IBEW local 71. After semi retiring he owned and operated the Country Corner Market in Greenfield for many years. He then went into full retirement.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one infant sister, Kathleen, and one brother, Leroy Ausman of Texas.
He was united in marriage on October 16, 1948 to Erma Chestnut Ausman, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Doug Templin, son and daughter-in-law, Irvin and Susie Ausman, Jr. all of Greenfield, foster son, Roy Chestnut of Bryan, four grandchildren, Bill Terry, Jackie Sewell, Irvin Ausman, III, and Carl Ausman, three great grandchildren, Amanda Sever, Todd Sever, and Chandler Ausman, step grandchildren, Amanda Elliott, Kristin Evans, Scott Templin, and Keith Templin, step great grandchildren, Josie, Lane, Shannon, Chase, Tiffani, Trevor, Amber and Brandon, one brother, Harvy Ausman of Texas, three sisters, Barbara Everhart of Massieville, Myrtle Penbrink of Texas, and Charlene Thompson of Greenfield, special niece, Marianne Cheshire of Arizona, and numerous other close family members.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 12:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Coss Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 till 12:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
