Irvin Hoop, 90 years of the Sinking Spring Community, died Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the Laurels of Hillsboro.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on April 20, 1917 the son of the late Clifford and Alta Seaman Hoop.
He was member of the Sinking Spring United Methodist Church where he was head of the Men?s Fellowship and member of the Pastor Parish Relations Committee, Sunday School Superintendent and taught Sunday School at Pisgah United Methodist Church, served as Brush Creek Township Trustee, served on Highland County Board of Health for several years, school board member at Marshall and Sinking Spring, and a board member of Landmark and the Farm Bureau.
He was united in marriage on November 5, 1938 to Margene K. Hill Hoop, who passed away on April 18, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Virgil and Arthur Hoop.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Patty Hoop of Sinking Spring, two daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian and Les Garman of Hillsboro, Debbie and Richard VanZant of Hillsboro, brother, Sherwood Hoop of Seaman, sister-in-law, Nina Jones of Hillsboro, seven grandchildren, Melissa Kevin Larson, Nick Paula Garman, Mindy Tim Roades, Kelly Rich Parry, Bruce Hoop, Whitney Chris Gobin, Ben VanZant, nine great grandchildren, Mason and Morgan Garman, Emmit and Aaron Roades, Madelyn, Abby, and Zachary Larson, Taylor Hoop, Remi Parry, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sinking Spring United Methodist Church with Greg Seaman, Dwight Crum, and Chris Gobin officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring.
