J.C. Cox, 70 years of Peebles, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Eagle Creek Nursing Home.
He was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on June 15, 1938 the son of the late Aaron and Cloda Girdler Cox.
J.C. attended the Dunkinsville United Methodist Church and was a lifelong farmer.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son; Johnny Craig Cox, who passed away in 1969, two brothers; Harold Cox and L.T. Cox, and one sister; Ina Jenkins.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Blythe Cox of Peebles, son and daughter-in-law Danny and Barbara Ogden of Peebles, daughter Susan Hammonds of Peebles, daughter and son-in-law Rosellen and Richard Roberts of Winchester, daughter Debra Toller of Peebles, daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Kelly Ryan of Peebles, brother Dr. William Cox of New Albany, Indiana, sister Mathel Whalen of Loveland, Ohio, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Pastor Steve Darby and Pastor Richard Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Tranquility Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
Memorials may be made to the Dunkinsville United Methodist Church.
