J. William "Bill" Nye, 79 years of Hillsboro, Ohio, died Monday, November 28, 2005.
He was born November 15, 1926 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Charles L. and Tressia Viola Frump Nye, Sr. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Bud Nye, George Gall and Dwight Gall; three sisters, Gertrude Carroll, Helen Fenner and Ruth Davis.
Bill was the Vice President/Owner of Hillsboro Auto Co. from 1950 until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of the Hillsboro 1st United Methodist Church, an Army Veteran of W.W.II, 33 year member of American Legion Post #129, Hillsboro, Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge #361, Hillsboro, Highland County Historical Society, a fifty year member of Highland Lodge #38 F.&A.M., Hillsboro Chapter #40 R.A.M., Hillsboro Council #16 R.S.M, Highland Commandery #31 K.T., Hillsboro Chapter #441, O.E.S., Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati.
On December 29, 1948, Bill was united in marriage to Ann Tolle Nye who survives. He is also survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Jane and Dennis Woodhouse of St. Louis, MO., Linda Nye of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren, Laura Woodhouse and Jason Woodhouse of St. Louis, MO.; two brothers, John R. Nye of Dayton, Ohio and Charles Nye, Jr. of Texas.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Shonkwiler officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home. Masonic and Scottish Rite Services will be held Friday at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
