Jack W. Murphy, 79 years of Hillsboro, died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia.
He was born in Stearns, Kentucky on May 1, 1928 the son of the late Floyd and Gertie Hamlin Murphy.
Jack was a member of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church, and a retired superintendent of Brown County Schools.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Strunk Murphy of Hillsboro, sons and daughter-in-law, Shane Murphy of Hillsboro, Terry and Brenda Murphy of Georgetown, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Jeremy Jessica Murphy of Georgetown, Kentucky, Jessica Murphy of Richmond, Kentucky, Chris Murphy of Lexington, Kentucky, and great granddaughter, Kinsey Murphy.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 10, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church, 8080 State Route 124, Hillsboro, with Dr. Dan Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 till 1:00 P.M. at the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church.
Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
