Jack C. Strickland

Jack C. Strickland, 73 years of Hillsboro, died Friday, June 3, 2011 at his residence. He was born February 25, 1938 in Custer, South Dakota, the son of the late Paul B. and Sarah Whitney Strickland.

Jack was a 1957 graduate of Verdugo Hills High School, Tujunga, California. Upon graduating from high school, Jack attended the Glendale Community College for two years and the Los Angeles Technical Trade College where he became a machinist. Jack worked for the David Kopf Company in California as a machinist where they manufactured medical research instruments. He worked 14 years for Warner Brothers Studio as a GRIP. In 1989 Jack relocated to Ohio

where he retired from Candle-Lite in 2000.

Jack attended Marshall United Methodist Church. He was initiated in 1954 into the LaCrescenta Valley DeMolay, in 1976 became a member of the LaCrescenta Valley Lodge # 652 and in 1989 demitted to the Highland Lodge # 38 F.& A.M. in Hillsboro.

On July 3, 1966, Jack was united in marriage to Sylvia Brown Strickland who survives. He is also survived by one son, Don Paul Strickland, of Hillsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Laura Jean and Anthony Meade of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Kaitlin Ireland Swayne, Nathan Robert Strickland, Hope Neola Meade.

According to Jack's wishes, he was cremated. No visitation or funeral service will be observed.
