Jack Unger, age 91 of Peebles, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.
He was born in Winchester, Ohio on May 19, 1923 the son of the late Homer and Gladys (Cline) Unger.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Unger, who passed away on March 10, 2007; two brothers, Jim Unger and Ronald Unger; and three sisters, Dorothy Bickett Jean Burke, and Mary Berry.
Jack attended Peebles United Methodist Church, was a US Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Lions Club, VFW Post #1029, and American Legion Post #594.
He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn and Karl Salmins of Noblesville, Indiana, and Ruth and Jim Nixon of Brandon, Florida; four sisters, Judy Osman of Seaman, Carol Kelly of Cottonwood, Arizona, Betty Evans of Germantown, Ohio, and Edith Swayne of McDermott; and three grandchildren, Emily, Kristel, and Alex.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Peebles United Methodist Church with Steve Zinser officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery with military graveside services given by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
