James E. Hardy CPO Ret US Navy AEC, 78 years of Leesburg, OH., died Thursday, June 11, 2009.
He was born February 27, 1931 in Los Angeles, California, the son of the late James and Ruth Barlow Hardy. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
James served his country during the Korean Conflict and the Viet-Nam Era. He was a member of the American Legion Post #757 in Chillicothe, OH and the VFW Post #6827 in St. Petersburg, FL. After his retirement from the Navy, James retired from Quality Chemical in St. Petersburg.
On June 26, 1972 he was united in marriage to Janet Watson Hardy who survives. He is also survived by son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Jane Clouser, Jr. of Leesburg, OH.;
daughter Ruth Hardy; brother John Hardy of Washington; two sisters Johanna Simmons and Cecilia Jenkins both of California; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Robert K. Blaine will officiate. Military Rites will follow services at the Thompson Funeral Home by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home.
