James Louis Fitzgerald

James Louis Fitzgerald, 89 years of Leesburg, passed away on Wednesday January 21, 2015 at the Adams County Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Pampa, TX on April 13, 1925, the son of the late James and Estella (O'Neal) Fitzgerald. Besides his parents he was preceded by his wife; of 63 years, Lois (McCoy) Fitzgerald, on July 5, 2014, son James L. Fitzgerald, and two great grandchildren, John and Brittany Knisley.
James retired from the U.S. Navy and received five Navy Good Conduct Awards, The American Campaign Medal, The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, China Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and The American Defense Service Medal.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Ann (James Douglas) Zerbe of Galena, KS; three grandchildren, Heather (Bart) Hanson of Leesburg, Phillip Fitzgerald of Piketon and Julie Ann Fitzgerald of Piketon, five great grandchildren, Wyatt and Julia Durbin, Aubrey Fitzgerald, Isabella Knisley and Hunter Matthews.
James wishes were to be cremated and have the United States Navy perform a Burial at Sea.
