James Arthur Freeman

James Arthur Freeman, Sr., 64 years of Sinking Spring, died Monday, September 6, 2004 at the V.A. Medical Center in Cincinnati.

He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 12, 1940 the son of James M. Freeman and Olive Alta Kotz Freeman.

He was a retired Staff Sergeant of the U.S. Army, having served in the Viet Nam Era. He was a member of the St. Mary?s Queen of Heaven Church in Peebles, the Cursillo Movement of Cincinnati, and the DAV.

He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Freeman, one son, James Freeman, Jr., one brother, Michael Freeman, one sister, Kathy Freeman, and step mother, Virgie Freeman.

He is survived by his wife, Diann Freeman of Sinking Spring, mother, Alta Freeman of Hillsboro, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lori Freeman of Hillsboro, daughters, Teresa Rose McCann of Wilmington, Maria Ann Freeman of Sinking Spring, Monica Augusta Freeman of Cincinnati, Annette Judith Freeman of Sinking Spring, brothers, Jack Freeman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tim Freeman of Cincinnati, David Freeman of Arlington, Texas, sisters, Donna Withrow of Cincinnati, Ardella Freeman of Benson, Arizona, six grandchildren, Shawnya Mahorney, Tasha McCann, Clayton Pennington, Jamie McCann, Tiffany McCann, and Jesse McCann.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Mary?s Queen of Heaven Church in Peebles with Father Luke Odor officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring. Rosary will be held Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 9:45 A.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
