James Vernon Huffman, 71 years of Florence, Mississippi, died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at his residence.
He was born October 1, 1940, in Highland County, the son of the late Cecil Vernon "Jack" and Mary Ethel Reno Huffman. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Barbara Ann Huffman.
James had retired from Sears and was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by two daughters, Gayle Mike Jennings of Florence, MS., Angie Sam Tripp of Bunn, N.C., two step sons, Michael Wood of new Holland, OH., John Wood of New Holland, OH., two brothers, Ronald Tempy Huffman of Hillsboro, OH., John Suzanne Huffman of Peebles, OH., five grandchildren, Liam Durham, Nathan Durham, Michael Kayla Jennings, Holly Roger Neely, Jason Jennings, two great grandchildren, Riley Neely, Dalton Jennings, two step grandchildren, Michael Dana Wood, H.R. Chastity Wood, four step great grandchildren, Shane, Aaron, Dalton and Taegan Wood, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring, OH..
Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
