James Donald Ison, 67 years of Latham, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at his residence.
He was born in Franklin Furnace, Ohio on February 19, 1935 the son of the late Cecil and Gladys May Ison.
He was a member of the Hillsboro Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1161, and was a Mifflin Township Trustee for over thirty years. He worked in the timber business for thirty-five years.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Ison, Leonard Ison, Cecil Ison, Jr., Charles Ison, and one sister, Dottie Hannah.
On September 3, 1955 he was united in marriage to Charlene Hoop Ison, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Jane and Donnie Tolle of Latham, one brother, Karl Ison of Latham, two sisters, Betty Lou Irvin, Brenda K. Ison, and two grandchildren, Donavon Martin Tolle, Jr., and Tiffany Dawn Tolle.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring with Rev. Carey Helterbrand officiating. Burial will follow in the Washburn Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
