James "Jim" William Mitchell, 78 years of Leesburg, passed away Tuesday May 3, 2022.
He was born in Hillsboro on October 24, 1943, the son of the Earl James and Bonnie Marie (Daniels) Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his father and a granddaughter Amanda Jones.
Jim loved his family, horses, and John Deere tractors. He was a member of the Samantha Free Will Baptist Church and the Ohio State Antique Tractor Pullers Association.
Jim is survived by his wife Debbie (Mann) Mitchell; sons Bryan (Debbie) Mitchell of Lees Creek, and Joseph (Amy) McClanahan of Blanchester; daughters Brandy (Bill) Strain of Chillicothe and DeAnn Mitchell of Amelia; mother Bonnie Marie; brothers Cecil (Jean) Mitchell of Careytown, Terry (Chris) Mitchell of Lima, and Tim Mitchell of Clarksville; grandchildren Olivia (Nick) Grim, Dryden Brown, Braylon Fredrick, Emily Strain, Aniston Strain, Dylan and Collin McClanahan, Madison Wells, Billy Jones, Harriet Jones, Harley Jones and Brandy Spurgeon; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday May 7, 2022 at the Samantha Free Will Baptist Church, 10211 St. Rt. 72 Leesburg, OH 45135. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the Samantha Free Will Baptist Church.
