James E. Modlin, Sr., 63 years of Hillsboro, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 15, 1951 in Phoenix City, Alabama, the son of the late Charles L. and Frances O. (Bray) Modlin. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter Kimberly Dawn Modlin-Weaver, one brother Ray Modlin.
James was an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War, attended the Peebles Church of God and had retired in 2002 from General Electric, Evandale after 30 years of service.
He is survived by one son James E. Modlin, Jr. of Peebles; one daughter and son-in-law Kristina Faith and Jonathan Rinal of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Bailey Lucarello, Brooklyn Lucarello, Mason Rinal, Lillian Modlin, Trinity Weaver, Alex Weaver, John Calle Weaver.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Harold Keaton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
