It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James F. Shoemaker, who left us on March 8, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on August 10, 1952, in West Union, OH, Jim was a beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents, Murven and Hazel (Smiley) Shoemaker, Sr. and sisters, Janet Wright, Doris Hoffman and Edith Shoemaker.
Jim proudly spent his days as a barber, where he not only honed his craft but also built lasting relationships with his clients. He was known for his easygoing nature, sharp wit, and genuine kindness. Beyond his work, Jim had a zest for life that shone through in everything he did. He loved hitting the open road on his motorcycle, and nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He also enjoyed having a fish sandwich at Frisch's Big Boy.
Jim leaves behind his two sons, Jason (Kara) Shoemaker and Jody (Melissa) Shoemaker, along with nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, his brothers Richard (Marlene) Shoemaker, Charles (Sharon) Shoemaker, Murven (Loraine) Shoemaker, and Walter (Judy) Shoemaker, sisters, Carolyn (James) Beard and Ruth Ann Vance and special friend, Debbie Coreno. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
