James A. Smith, 62 years of Peebles, died Monday, September 9, 2002 at the Adams County Hospital in West Union.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on June 8, 1940 the son of the late Richard and Gertrude Cooper Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Gertrude Smith of Unity, wife, Sue Smith of Peebles, sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Krista Smith of Peebles, Randy and Kathy Smith of Peebles, brothers, Delmar Smith of West Union, Jack Smith of Texas, sisters, Barbara Copher of Beavercreek, Linda Young of Seaman, and granddaughter, Victoria Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Clifton Barger officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
