James Dupree Smith

James Dupree JD Smith Jr., 74 years of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2013 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Florence County, S.C. on March 20, 1939, the son of the late James Dupree JD Sr. and Lorene Matthews Smith.
J.D. attended JC Lynch High School, Coward, S.C. was a member of Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church, The Young at Heart and board member of Holiday Trails Association. JD was an avid fisherman and never met a stranger.
James is survived by his beloved wife, of 45 years, Betty Jane Jamison Smith, son Glenn Smith of Toledo, OH, three daughters, Angela Hyman of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Linda Wurderman and Denise Knight both of Rock Hill, S.C., two sisters Patricia Horton of Coward, S.C. and Peggy McElveen of Timmonsville, S.C., 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and best friend Pennie.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 A.M on Thursday August 1, 2013 at Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church.
Friends may call on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. until time of service at Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church.
Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
