James E. Spargur, 58 years of Hillsboro, died Friday, July 6, 2001 at the Highland District Hospital.

He was born on May 19, 1943 at Hillsboro, OH the son of the late Harold W. and Josephine M. Rhoads Spargur.

Jim was a Nationwide Insurance Agent in Waynesville, OH for 25 years, prior to his move to Hillsboro He was an Associate with the Russ Newman Nationwide Insurance, Real Estate Agent for Classic Real Estate Company and worked at Weastec in Hillsboro. He was a member of the Hillsboro First Baptist Church, Highland Lodge #38 F&AM, Hillsboro Chapter #40 RAM, Hillsboro Council #16 RSM, Highland Commandery #31 Knights Templar, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Temple of Dayton, Kentucky Colonel, Highland County Historical Society.

On September 15, 1968 he was united in marriage to Jane Pavey Spargur who survives. He is also survived by a daughter Lisa Ann Spargur of Dayton, mother-in-law and father-in-law Marjorie and James Byrd of Hillsboro, Sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Mary and Rick Vollmar of Chillicothe, Cathy and David Parry of Hillsboro, Pamela and Dennis Lafferty of Newtonsville, Aunts Ruth Carroll of Chillicothe and Stella Haines of Dayton.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home. Masonic Services followed immediately by Scottish Rite Services will be held at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
