Jane Anne VanPelt, 89 years of Leesburg, died Monday, May 28, 2007 at the Crestview Manor Nursing Center in Lancaster, OH.
She was born April 18, 1918 at New Petersburg, OH, the daughter of the late Heber E. and Lillian M. Shaw King.
Jane graduated from the last class at Highland School, member of the Leesburg Friends Church, a 65 year member of the Leesburg Chapter # 57 O.E.S, Wednesday Club, Farm Bureau Council and retired after 31 years of service from the Leesburg Branch of the Highland District Library.
On January 1, 1940 she was united in marriage to William R. VanPelt who preceded her in death on December 16, 1969. To this union was born three children, two sons and daughters-in-law, William K. and Sandra VanPelt of Columbus, OH, Robert R. and Janice VanPelt of Leesburg, OH, one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Michael Young of Lancaster, OH, six grandchildren, W. Christopher Valerie VanPelt of Dallas, TX, Matthew VanPelt of Osaka, Japan, Susan Chris Hurless of Leesburg, OH, Emily Jason, Sr. Rice of Leesburg, OH, Jared Kelsey Young of Enon, OH, Stephen Young of Lancaster, OH; four great grandchildren, Nicholas VanPelt of Dallas, TX, Jason Rice, Jr., Shelby Rice of Leesburg, OH, Ian Young of Enon, OH; four sisters, Betty Abbott of CA, Mary Frances Miller of CA, Sarah Pitz of Seville, OH, Gayle Seeds of Pickerington, OH; one brother, James King of New Vienna, OH.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 1, 2007 at the Leesburg Friends Church, 149 South Street, Leesburg, OH. Pastor John Fitzgerald and Rev. Robert Carroll will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Leesburg Friends Church. Eastern Star Services will be held 8:00 P.M. Thursday.
