Janet Jean Estle, 89 years of the Rainsboro Community, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Janet was born in Rainsboro on January 21, 1935, the daughter of the late Eugene and Helen (Powell) Hixson. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth D. Estle on January 10, 2023; daughter, Cindy Matthews; son, Terry Estle; brother, Charels Hundley.
Janet was a member of the Rainsboro Global Methodist Church, graduate of Greenfield McClain High School. After graduation, she was a waitress at the Rainsboro Truck Stop. Janet and Kenny got married July 14, 1954 and she became a devoted farmer's wife. She served 20 years as the Fiscal Officer for Paint Township. Janet was a dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her four grandchildren, Tara (Todd) Campbell of Rainsboro, Josh (Erin) Matthews of Leesburg, Jennifer (Nathan) Brown of Hillsboro, Samantha (Jeffery) Black of Rainsboro; ten great grandchildren, Grace, Zane, Joel, Gabriel and Claire Matthews, Coy, Luke and Ella Brown, Madison and C.J. Campbell; two great great grandchildren, Cairo and Ora; son-in-law, Rick ( Kelly) Matthews of Rainsboro; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 P.M. Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Dr. Russell Clark will officiate with inurnment of cremains in the Roads Cemetery.
