Jesse A. Cooper, 81 years of Seaman, died Thursday, September 2, 2004 at the Adams County Hospital in West Union.

He was born in Stout, Ohio on December 18, 1922 the son of the late Jackson and Nellie Evans Cooper.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Baker Cooper, who he married on August 11, 1950, three sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Kathy Cooper of Peebles, Mike Cooper of Peebles, Steve and Bobbi Jo Cooper of Seaman, seven daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Jack Johnson of Peebles, Carol and Jim Davis of Kentucky, Mary Lou Unger of Italy, Erma and Gary Hoop of Peebles, Diana and Mitchell Wilson of Kentucky, Edna and Terry Turner of South Carolina, Janet and Dan Hooten of California, three sisters, Ione Robinson of Portsmouth, Ruth Ayers of Bluecreek, Faye Lewis of Wheelersburg, twenty-one grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Troy Jolly officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends may call on Sunday from 12:00 till 2:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
