Jessie Basford, age 97 of Dayton, formerly of Seaman, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Life Care Hospital of Dayton.
She was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on July 4, 1916 the daughter of the late Bascom and Electa Vice Butcher.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian Basford, who passed away on July 12, 1993.
She is survived by one daughter, Willa Lee Basford Singer of Dayton; brother, Russ Butcher of Hillsboro, Kentucky; sister, Mary Manning of Vandalia, Ohio; and granddaughter, Melody Noelle Singer of Dayton.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Calvary Church of God with Steve Warnock officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Leigh Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
