Jewell Walker, 94 years of Hillsboro, died Thursday, November 7, 2002 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.

She was born in Clermont County, Ohio on October 18, 1908 the daughter of the late T.H. and Emma Belle Manning McQuitty.

She was a member of the Sugartree Ridge Church of Christ. She was a charter member and helped organize the Highland County Homemakers Club in 1945, of which she was the oldest member of fifty-seven years. She was the first woman School Bus Driver of the Hillsboro City School District.

Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Walker, who passed away on September 5, 1969, and one brother, Clifford McQuitty.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Phyllis Walker of Hillsboro, one daughter, Jean Coss of Huber Heights, five grandchildren, Ronald Joyce Walker of Hillsboro, Donald Donna Walker of Hillsboro, Dale Cheryl Walker of Hillsboro, Craig Coss of Huber Heights, Mark Coss of Huber Heights, eleven great grandchildren, and one sister, Marybelle Upton of Dayton.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Derrick Stump officiating. Burial will follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 till 6:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
