Joann Monroe, 74 years of Peebles, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Clermont Mercy Hospital.
She was born in Blue Creek, Ohio on July 18, 1934 the daughter of the late Arthur and Etna Chamblin Cross.
Joanna was a longtime member of the Rarden Nazarene Church.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one son Jimmy Monroe.
She is survived by her husband Robert Monroe of Peebles, whom she married on October 8, 1960, two sons and daughters-in-law; Jeff and Pat Monroe of Peebles and Joe and Kim Monroe of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, two daughters and sons-in-law; Janie and Robert Blair of Bedford, Kentucky and Joyce and Tim Turner of Hillsboro, two sisters; Faye Conley of Peebles and Wanda Hill of Seaman, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Rarden Nazarene Church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Rarden Nazarene Church; the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles will be in charge of the arrangements.
