Joe R. Queen, 83 years of Winchester, died Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at the Villa Georgetown.
He was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on January 26, 1918 the son of the late Claude and Rose Hamblin Queen.
He was a member of the Winchester First Church of Christ. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Joe T. Queen, one brother, George Queen, and three sisters, Helen Bowman, Doris Osman, and Alice Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Thomas Queen of Winchester, daughter-in-law, Robin Elliott of Sardinia, grandchildren, Amy Queen, Scott Queen, great grandchildren, Mandy, Michael, Elizabeth, and sisters, Louella Fannin of Flatwood, Kentucky, and Marion Smith of Dothan, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at the Winchester First Church of Christ with Eldon Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherry Fork Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home in Winchester.
