John Russell Banks, 80 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday June 18, 2021.
He was born in Breathitt County, KY on July 26, 1940. The son of the late Andrew Arkill and Cora Banks. Besides his parents, he is also preceded by three brothers, Charles, Walter and Fred Banks and sister, Loretta Banks.
John was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge #696 of Belfast and Odd Fellows Angloa Lodge #231 of Belfast.
John is survived by his wife, Tina (Branham) Banks, whom were married on December 10, 1974, sons, Bradley (Amy) Banks of Hillsboro, Robert Lee Banks of Beaver Creek Andrew Russell (Bubbie) Banks and Richard Lee Banks, daughters, Vercie Banks-McKinney of Cleveland, Cora Fern (Prudy) Sizemore, Vonda Kay (Doodle) Sizemore, Teresa Ann Banks and Mary Irene (Paul) Brock, brothers, Rexford (Ina Faye) Banks, James Banks and Andrew (Mary) Banks, 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and sisters, Minnie (James) Milligan, Jenny (Gerald) Pearson, Reba (Vincent) Branham and Norma (Mike) Barker.
Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Saturday June 26, 2021 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM until time of services on Saturday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
