John Brown, 85 years of Peebles, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Georgetown Ohio Veterans Home.
He was born at Leesburg, on November 4, 1926 the son of the late Jesse and Gladys Newkirk Brown. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Shirley Stephens on April 27, 1991.
He was a Navy veteran serving in WWII.
He is survived by his 2nd wife Norma Rhoads Brown whom he married on July 1, 1994 of Peebles; one son, Steve Brown of Cincinnati; one daughter and son in law, Nancy and Mike Richmond of Cincinnati; two step daughters, Kim and Doug McFarland of Peebles, Michelle and Jay Buten of Cincinnati; one brother, Bob Brown of Hillsboro; one sister, Ann Jordan of Hillsboro; one granddaughter, one great grandchild and six step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home with Todd Zike officiating. Military graveside rites will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 PM at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
