John L. "Larry" Hedges, a devoted Air Force veteran born on April 1, 1936, in Hillsboro, peacefully passed away on June 7, 2024.
He will be deeply missed by his cherished son Jason Hedges of Loveland.
Larry is preceded by his parents, Elmer and Ursula Hedges, wife, Barbara Hedges whom were married on September 2, 1961, daughter-in-law, Renee Hedges and brothers, Phil and Dave Hedges.
Fondly remembered as "Larry" by those who knew him, he found great joy in the company of his beloved wife Barbara Hedges and cherished his time spent with his grandsons, Mitchell and Owen Hedges. Larry is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Amie (JR) Gallaugher, Jocelyn (Rob) Goubeaux, Brad (Barb) Hedges, JP (Michel) Hedges, several great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
An avid admirer of classic cars, Larry particularly adored his 2002 Thunderbird and held a pilot's license close to his heart.
A man of integrity and dedication, Larry's life was shaped by his service in the Air Force, his love for his family, and his passion for aviation and vintage automobiles. His presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday June 20, 2024 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Hillsboro Cemetery with miliary rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday June 19, 2024 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
