John Henry Kerns, 65 years of Lapperell Road, died Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Pike Community Hospital in Waverly, OH.
John was born in Highland County, Ohio on August 30, 1943, the son of the late Elzie and Vergie Chenoweth Kerns. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Kerns.
John worked many years for the Gross-Feibel Company in Hillsboro and at the Pike County MRDD.
On May 2, 1965, he was united in marriage to Judy Legg Kerns who survives; two sons and daughter-in-law, John M. and Penny Kerns of Latham, OH. and Matthew Kerns of Lapperell Road; one daughter and son-in-law, Eva and Jeff Balleine of Latham, OH.; two grandchildren, Dianna Newsome and Tom Newsome; two great grandchildren, Elissa Jo and Destiny Newsome; four brothers, Sampson Marcella Kerns of South Carolina, Charley Ruth Kerns of Lapperell Road, Mack Kerns of Pike County, OH., Lee Roy Rita Kerns of Pike County, OH.; one sister, Mary Hilterbrand of Columbus, OH.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral in Sinking Spring, OH.
Friends may call Tuesday from 12:00 Noon till 2:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
