John D. Lamb, 81 years of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Hillsboro, died Thursday, October 25, 2001 at his residence.
He was born in Waynesville, Ohio on August 3, 1920 the oldest son of the late Lemuel H. and Lena Noggle Lamb.
He served in the Air Force in the Pacific during World War II. He retired as terminal manager of the Greyhound Bus Line in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marguerite Pat Hiestand Lamb of Jacksonville, Florida, son, David Lamb of Blooming Glen, Pennsylvania, two daughters, Rita Takeuchi of Jacksonville, Florida, Ruth Jordan of Durham, North Carolina, five grandchildren, two brothers, Lou Lamb of Hillsboro, Ohio, Bruce Lamb of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. at the Danville Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 till 6:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
