John D. Peterson, 55 years of Hillsboro, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 at his residence.

He was born in Springfield, Ohio on December 11, 1945 the son of Doug and Ione Johnson James.

He was a truck driver for Faye Gibson Trucking for thirty-five years. He was a member of the Mt. Washington Church of Christ and the Highland County Toy Tractor Club. He raised his grandson James from birth.

He was preceded in death by his father, Doug James.

He is survived by his wife who he married on November 5, 1965, Mary Ann Gorman Peterson of Hillsboro, mother, Ione James of Hillsboro, mother-in-law, Margaret Gorman of Hillsboro, two sons and daughter-in-law, Douglas Edward Girlfriend, Robin Peterson of West Union, John Alan and Sherry Peterson of Hillsboro, daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Roy Workman of Midland, brothers, Wayne Burden of Hillsboro, Chuck James of Hillsboro, sister, Susan Dido of Hillsboro, sister-in-law, Donna Sue Gorman of Hillsboro, and eight grandchildren, James Peterson, Chad Cluff, Josh Cluff, Ciara Peterson, Stefen Peterson, R.J. Workman, Jonathon Peterson, and Dakota Peterson..

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Bobby Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunn?s Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call on Saturday from 6:00 till 9:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
