John Boy Rhoads, 51 years of Hillsboro, died Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Highland District Hospital.
John Boy was born September 8, 1957 in Hillsboro, the son of the late John Rhoads, Jr. and Ethel Mae Parker Rhoads of Hillsboro.
John Boy was a lieutenant on the Brush Creek Township Fire Department where he served for past 30 years, he was active with the Brush Creek Township Life Squad, an 18 year member of the Hillsboro National Guards and served as the 2008 Grand Marshall of the Hillsboro Festival of the Bells.
Beside his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Christina Marie Rhoads of Hillsboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Kathleen Rhoads of Hillsboro; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Ron Kelley of Hillsboro and Debra and Merle King of Hillsboro; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5:00 till 8:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home
