John R. Rowland, 73 years of Seaman, died Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at his residence.
He was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on February 25, 1929 the son of the late John Henry and Cora Nunn Rowland.
He was a member of the Manchester F.O.E. #2232.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Rowland, who passed away in August 2000, two brothers, Don and Ray Rowland, one sister, Mabel Mullins, and one great granddaughter.
He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and Shirley Rowland of Cherry Fork, Jeffrey Rowland of Manchester, daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Doug Himes of Winchester, four brothers, Earl Rowland of Franklin, Darrell Rowland of Peebles, Jack Rowland of Miamisburg, Fred Rowland of Germantown, four sisters, Alpha Sierschula of Beavercreek, Elsie Pitman of Springboro, Ruth Ann Gillespie of Carlisle, Billie Philpot of Carlisle, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two step grandsons, and four step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2002 at 12:00 P.M. at the Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home in Seaman with Pastor Homer Couch officiating. Burial will follow in the Cherry Fork Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 till 12:00 P.M. at the Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home.
