John B. White, 84 years of Natrona Heights, PA, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, Cabot, PA.
He was born at Toledo, Ohio on February 26, 1924 the son Wilbur McKee and Helen Bartlett White.
He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corp during WWII, Graduated with a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering from Ohio State University, Executive Vice President Glass Division of PPG Industries, Pittsburgh for 34 years retiring in 1986, member of the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Brackenridge, Brackenridge Hts Country Club, Oakmont Yacht Club, River Forest Yacht Club, Pittsburgh Power Squadron, Elks, Past Commodore of Pittsburgh Syria Mariners, Mason with Queen City Masonic lodge Cumberland Md, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Royal Arch Mason, Knights Templar, Syria Shriners, York Rite, Skyview Radio Club, Pa Society of Professional Land Surveyors, Society of Automotive Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Past Board Member of Allegheny Valley Hospital, past Vestry member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, enjoyed boating, fishing hunting, ham radio operator, genealogy, building clocks
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, JoAna Phillips.
He is survived by his wife Helen Collins White of 56 years, two sons and daughters/law, Kenneth and Joanne White of Albany, NY, David and Cathleen White of Murrysville, PA, two daughters and son/law, Susan and Gary Sobkiw of Harrison Twp, PA, Ann and Werner Emmerich of Plainfield, Ill, six grandchildren, Kristen and Bryan White, Clay and Savannah Emmerich, John and Katherine White, sister Margaret Moffat of Saluda, NC., sister/law and brother/law, Margery and Fred Barney of Hillsboro, brother/law, Frank Collins of Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home with Rev.Cliff Atkinson, Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday from 9:00 A.M. till service time at 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home.
