John L. Zimmerman, 89 years of Seaman, passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 at Autumn Years Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sabina.
He was born in Seaman, Ohio on September 19, 1919 the son of the late E.C. and Jessie Boldman Zimmerman.
John was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II and a member of the Seaman American Legion.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Iola McGowan Zimmerman, whom he married on December 5, 1944 and passed away on September 18, 2007, three brothers; Bernard, Charles, and Curt Zimmerman, and four sisters; Ruth Collins, Elizabeth Zimmerman, Clara Zimmerman, and Helen McCormick.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Joe and Stephanie Zimmerman of Cincinnati, Ohio and Randy and Bobbie Zimmerman of Hillsboro, Ohio, one brother; Robert Zimmerman of Cincinnati, Ohio, two sisters; Betty & Earl Raines of Seaman and Ann Young of Seaman, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Ken Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Leigh Cemetery with military graveside services given by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
