Joseph Leroy Quallen

Joseph Leroy Quallen, 85 years of Hillsboro, died Monday, July 2 , 2012 at Highland District Hospital.
He was born at Owensville, OH., on October 12, 1926 the son of the late William Edward and Mary Ada Wolfrum Quallen. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Frances Aileen White Quallen on March 2, 2010; one brother Harry E. Quallen.
He was a graduate of Owensville High School, graduate of Wilmington College, taught school for 40 years at West Clermont School system, 17 years as a sub teacher at Hillsboro and Lynchburg School System.
He was a member of the Hillsboro 1st Presbyterian Church, Army Veteran of W.W. II, was a 60 year Member and a Past Master of Marathon Lodge #203 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati & Linden Chapter #348 OES
He is survived by his son George G. Quallen of Hillsboro; daughter and son in law, Melonie L. and Raymond Keith Hardin of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Ashley James , Maria Hardin, Mark Hardin & James Amber Hardin; two great grandchildren, Haylee & Kylie Hardin; two sisters in law, Mary Quallen of Owensville, Ruth White of Hillsboro; four nephews, Bill Quallen, John Debbie Quallen, James White, David Amy White; three nieces, Kathy, Mary Lou Carter & Nancy Travis.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Greenberry Memorial Masonic Temple, 4869 St. Rt. 133, Williamsburg, Ohio with Rev. Maurice Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside rites by the Highland County Honor Guard in the Greenberry Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home at 241 E. Main St., Hillsboro, Ohio and from 6:00P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Greenberry Memorial Masonic Temple with Eastern Star Services, followed by Masonic Services and Scottish Rite Services starting at 8:00 P.M.
