Joseph L. Stern, 87 years of Seaman, died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at his residence.
He was born in Seaman, Ohio on July 7, 1920 the son of the late John William and Minnie Pearl Storer Stern.
He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Seaman American Legion Charles H. Eyre Post #633, and the Rural Letter Carrier Association.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Cecil Stern and two sisters, Lucille Best and Mildred Gaver.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Young Stern of Seaman, son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Tammy Stern of Seaman, daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Jim Moore of Hillsboro, Jo and Jim Hall of Seaman, brother, Ralph Stern of Seaman, sister, Beulah Boyd of Dayton, sister-in-law, Ruth Stern of Wilmington, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home in Seaman with Rev. Marilyn Rhoades officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Leigh Cemetery.
There will be no visitation observed.
