Joy C. Bruce, 96 years of Lewisburg, Ohio, formerly of the Byington Community, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019.
She was born in Champagne County, IL on April 13, 1922, the daughter of the late Newton and Elizabeth (White) Chrisman. Besides her parents she was also preceded by her husband Harry Edwin Bruce of 57 years, two sons, Ronnie and Montie Bruce, and three brothers, Newton, Drue, and Dwight Chrisman.
Joy attended the Byington Church of Christ in Christian Union and retired after 30 years from General Motors, Inland Division, in Dayton Ohio.
Joy is survived by her son, Dwaine Bruce of Dayton, daughter, Vicki (Jerry) Hutzelman of Lewisburg, daughter-in-law Kimberly Bruce of Piketon, grandchildren, Stacie Angle, Christopher Bruce, Ron Brumback, Rhonda Turpin, Monica Humphrey, Heather Penwell and Patrick Bruce, eleven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren on the way.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring, Ohio. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sinking Spring.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, Ohio.
