Joyce Newkirk, 65 years of Peebles, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at her residence.
She was born in Rarden, Ohio on April 29, 1942 the daughter of the late Jesse and Rosella Jenkins Smith.
She was a member of the Peebles Church of Christ and the Peebles Lioness Club.
She was united in marriage on January 28, 1962 to Donald Newkirk, who survives. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Kim Newkirk of Columbus, Indiana, daughters and son-in-law, Jenny and Matt Penrod of Peoria, Illinois, Kimberly Jo Newkirk of Peebles, brothers, Charles, Paul, Harry, Gary, and Dwayne Smith, sisters, JoAnn Parr of Hillsboro, Shirley Syroney of Rarden, half sister, Sharma Hoffer, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ with Bill Christman and Jim Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles, with the Lioness Service at 7:30 P.M.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope, 215 Hughes Blvd., Mt. Orab, OH 45154.
