Juanita Thompson

July 8, 1926 — March 26, 2013

Jessie Juanita Thompson was born July 8, 1926 to Jesse and Ada McNeal Dugan in Adams County, Ohio. She left this world on March 26, 2013 at her home in Peebles, Ohio while surrounded by her loved ones.

She married Ralph Willis Thompson on March 23, 1946. They were blessed with 5 children: Patsy, Bonnie, Suzanne, Diane and Mike.

She began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Adams County Hospital in 1970 and worked there until her retirement in 1991. She loved her work and was notorious for her ability to offer comfort and care to her patients. After retirement, she continued to provide care and support to family and friends in the community.

Juanita enjoyed and dedicated a lot of hours to local civic organizations. She served in various official capacities in the Lioness Club, Haphazard, Senior Citizens and various committees. She was a wonderful seamstress and spent may hours making anything from cheerleading uniforms for the Franklin Panthers in the 60's to costumes for grandchildren.

Juanita enjoyed traveling the country with friends Marge, JoAnne and others with the Senior Citizens group. She took many trips with her children as well. She was a huge fan of any sport or event in which her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren participated. She could always be counted on to be their #1 fan.

She accepted Christ and enjoyed listening to the message delivered by her son-in-law John.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ada Dugan; husband, Ralph; brothers; Russell, Ralph and Elmer and sisters Ethel, Edna, Edith, Ruby and Marie.

She is survived by her children; Patricia MacDowell of Woodstock, Ohio; Bonnie Waltemath and husband Mike of King City, MO; Suzanne Huffman and husband John of Peebles; Diane Parman and husband Pete of Grant City, MO; Mike Thompson and wife Shirley of Peebles. Grandchildren include; Melissa Thompson, Arlene Horsley, Heath Boyd, Heather Boyd, Jessica Robinson, Amy Swango, Jonathan Huffman, Rachel Sims, Allen Huffman, Chet Douglas, Ben Calhoon, Macade Thompson and Katelyn Thompson. She was also blessed with 21 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with John Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.

Memorials may be made to Haphazard Homemakers, Lioness Club, or Alzheimer's Association.
