Judith Vandervort Wilson, 88 of Lynchburg, passed away at the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law. She was born April 5, 1934 to Nicholas W. Vandervort and Mary Jones Vandervort, the 3rd of 9 children. She attended New Antioch Elementary School and Wilmington High School. On June 5, 1950, she married the love of her life, Early Clay Wilson. They had one child, Dianne.
In 1978, Judy & Early moved to Tennessee where they lived for nearly 35 years. During that time, Judy worked in retail until she began managing the office and bookkeeping for the construction companies that she and Early started. Judy was a people person. She loved to laugh, to talk to people, but most of all, she loved her family, sharing a very special bond with her grandson, Will. And, she cherished her friends.
One of her favorite hobbies was going to garage sales. Judy also loved sending greeting cards. She rarely missed celebrating special occasions with those she loved.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years. Early, her parents, a sister, Beverly Roach, brothers Nick Vandervort, David Vandervort, and Bruce Vandervort. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dianne & Bill Fawley, her grandson, Will (Kara) Fawley, and 2 great grandsons, Dax & Tripp, sisters Delilah Stowers, Nancy Kelly, and Martha Vandervort, a brother Nathan Vandervort, brothers-in-law Marvin Wilson, Larry (Shirley) Wilson, Curtis (Cinda) Wilson, John (Sharon) Wilson, and sister-in-law Shari (Earl) Silva, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Thompson Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of Ohio's Hospice of Fayette County, 222 Oakland Ave., Washington Court House, OH 43160, or to a church or charity of your choice.
