Junior J. Miller

Junior J. Miller, 87 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Friday February 26, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe.

He was born in Hillsboro on July 22, 1928, the son of the late Jimmy Joe and Lula Agatha (Beekman) Miller. Besides his parents, he was also preceded by his wife Louise (Surgeon) Miller on October 20, 1999, five sisters, Dorothy Helterbrand, Helen Robson, Marjorie White, Irene Reed and Lucille Reed and two brothers, Kenneth Miller and Frank Miller.

Junior served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, was a life long farmer and timber man, served on the H.D.H. Board of Trustee's, was the Marshall Township Trustee for 32 years, served as Vice Commander of Hillsboro VFW Post # 9094, Hillsboro AMVETS Post #61 and was on the Highland County ASCS for several years.

Junior is survived by his son Jim (Mary) Miller of Hillsboro, daughter Sandy (Wayne) Shaffer of Hillsboro, seven grandchildren, Chad (Rhonda) Willoughby, Brad (Christy) Miller, T.J. (Sarah) Miller, Tyler (Tara) Miller, Mariah (Jared Wise) Miller, Shannon (Roxanne) Shaffer and Justin Shaffer; 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday February 29, 2016 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Tom Zile officiating.

Burial will follow at Marshall Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Friends may call at 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday February 28, 2016 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
