Kathleen F. Wilson Patterson Lucas, 87, of Hillsboro, died August 17, 2006 at her home.
She was born March 7, 1919 in Ross County, Ohio the daughter of the late Carey B. and Alma Hinton Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, William H. Patterson, whom she married on July 7, 1942; husband, Dr. M. Gerald Lucas, whom she married June 24, 1978; an infant grandson, Craig Allen Rittenhouse of Hillsboro; a brother, Harold E. Wilson and sister-in-law, Dorothy Sorguis Wilson; a brother, Richard W. Wilson, all of Chillicothe and a brother-in-law, John Rhoads of Brookville.
A 1940 graduate of the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing, Kathleen was a dedicated nurse and nursing administrator for over 35 years. She was a charter member of the American Society for Hospital Nursing Services and Administrator of the American Hospital Association. She was a member of the Leesburg Chapter #57 Order of the Eastern Star in which she served as Worthy Matron, President of District 21 and Deputy Grand Matron. She received her 50 year membership pin from the Grand Chapter of Ohio in 1999. She was a member of the Highland County Historical Society, Hillsboro Emblem Club #277, Honorary Member of the Ladies Golf Association of the Hillsboro Elks, Ohio Republican Women?s Club and Republican Century Club and the Hillsboro Towne Club. In 1947 she and husband William Patterson moved to Leesburg, Ohio and opened the Patterson Funeral Home which they operated until his death in 1974.
She is survived by a daughter, Kay Elizabeth John Rittenhouse of Hillsboro, a son, William Michael Patterson of Manhattan, NY; step son, Dr. M. Glenn Lynne Lucas of Hillsboro; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Smith Wilson of Chillicothe, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sara Ruth Rhoads of Brookville, Ohio; grandchildren, Laura Ann Todd Salome of Utica, Ohio, and Julie Kay Rittenhouse of Newark, Ohio. Step grandchildren, M. Greg Lucas of Hillsboro, Laura Eddie Turner of Hillsboro, and Lee Katharine Koogler of Hillsboro. Great Grandchildren, Thomas R. Baird, Victoria E. Walker, and Jonathon A. Hannahs. Step great grandchildren, Evan and Nicholas Turner, and Abigail Koogler; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Visitation will be Monday, August 21, 2006 from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home.
Eastern Star services will be 8:00 P.M. following the visitation on Monday at Thompson Funeral Home.
Internment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Leesburg, Ohio.
