Kathryn L. Strain, 75 years of Hillsboro, died Saturday March 20, 2010 at her residence.
She was born September 6, 1934 in Fayette County, OH., the daughter of the late George and Harriett Miller Hamilton. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Nelson Strain on March 25, 1986, three sons Ronald N., Randy and Robert Strain, two brothers Edward Hamilton and George Hamilton, Jr., one sister Jane Ralph.
Kathryn was a member of the Winchester Community Church of God, retired after 31 ½ years of service from the Hillsboro City Schools, 4H advisor for 39 years of the Goats, Galore and More Club and is the 2nd longest advisor in the state.
She is survived by daughter-in-law Darlene Strain of Martinsville, OH., one grandson R. Nyle Jana Strain of Ochlockonee Bay, FL., two granddaughters Lacy Strain of Cincinnati, OH. and Emily Bryan Dabbs of Hillsboro, OH., three great grandsons Kendal and Rondal Smith, Elijah Dabbs, three sisters Dorothy Hamilton of Leesburg, OH., Eileen Max Carson of Greenfield, OH., Ginny Morris Adams of Leesburg, OH., ½ sister Mary Smith of Greenfield, OH., sister-in-law Jo Hamilton Storer of Hillsboro, OH., two nieces Tamara Kevin Fulkerson and Tara Elking, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Hardins Creek Cemetery at Bridges. Rev Steve Warnock will officiate.
There will be no visitation held.
