Kay Routt - Gillis, 59 years of Wilmington, passed away on Thursday March 10, 2016 at the Grandview Medical Center in Dayton.
She was born in Cincinnati, OH on January 19, 1957, the daughter of the late Vernon Griffith and Ellen (Rice) Griffith of Lynchburg. She is also preceded by one son, Jamie Lee Routt and one grandchild.
Kay graduated from Lynchburg-Clay High School and Southern State Community College.
Kay is survived by her husband, Jeffery R. Gillis whom were united in marriage on February 23, 2003, two sons, Donald (Tabitha Russell) Routt of Wilmington, and Dustin (Mindy) Routt of Wilmington; one daughter Amy (Anthony) Hoover of Wilmington; one brother Jerry Lee Griffith of Lynchburg; one sister Caroline Kerrick of Lumberton and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 12:00PM Monday March 14, 2016 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with the Pastor Jim Riggle officiating.
Burial will follow at the Miami Cemetery in Waynesville.
Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday at the Thompson Funeral Home
