Keith Gilmore

December 26, 1947 — June 6, 2015

Gilbert "Keith" Gilmore, 67 of Hillsboro, formerly of Frankfort, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 6, in University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was born on December 26, 1947 to Gilbert "Did" Gilmore and Maxine (McCalla) Gilmore. On July 25,1981 he married the former Joy McGaw, who survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Texas;his children,Heath(Lisa) Gilmore, Valerie(Brad) Wilburn, both of Clarksburg and Maggie Gilmore, of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Tiffany, Tangie and Miranda Gilmore, Brandy(Jeff)Noble, Aaron Kohn, Mika Sowers, Braden and Garrett Wilburn, and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters Ramona(Roger) Hammond and Juleah(Neal) DeWitt, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, his father, sister Beth(Robert) Lee, brother Clark Gilmore and granddaughter Hunter Gilmore.
Keith was a member of Adena High School's first graduating class in 1966. During high school, he participated in football, basketball and track. He then graduated from Miami University in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in education. He taught for several years at Waverly, Zane Trace, Greenfield and Whiteoak school systems and coached football, track and soccer. Keith also was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed watching Ohio State football games. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in various sports.
He was a very active in the Emmaeus community and loved to share his talent of singing. Keith recently became a deacon at his church, Northview Baptist. Keith had recently retired from the Kroger Company in Hillsboro.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 13th at 11:30 at the Northview Baptist Church, 1139 Northview Drive, Hillsboro.
