Kelli Dawn Stern Ison, 38 years of Morehead, KY., died Friday, June 3, 2005 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was born April 3, 1967 in Mariemont, Ohio, the daughter of Thomas Stern of Morehead and Karen Duncanson Stern Rizzo of Cincinnati. Beside her parents, she is survived by stepmother, Karen Ray Ross of Morehead; daughter, Laura Ann Elizabeth ?Beth? Ison of Morehead; paternal grandparents, Cecil ?Beech? and Eva Swisshelm Stern of Seaman; maternal grandmother, Helen Duncanson of Redwood City, CA.; half brothers, Coby Travis Stern, a student at Morehead State University and Ryan Rizzo of Cincinnati; stepsisters, Shelley Talliverio of TN and Sherry Ortega of Clearwater, FL.
Kelli was a 1984 graduate of Rowan County High School, where she participated in the band and flag corps. She was an award-winning swimmer in the Erlanger, KY. School System, having made the high school swim team during her sixth grade. She always dreamed of ?swimming with the dolphins?. Kelli attended Morehead State University and was currently a substitute teacher?s aide in the Rowan County Schools. She was a leader of Daisies, Brownies and Girl Scouts and an active supporter-mom with TNT Gymnastics
