Lando Jean Chambers, 80 years of Hillsboro died Wednesday August 1, 2012 at the Georgetown Veterans Home.
He was born in Irvin, Kentucky on December 1, 1931 the son of the late Orlando and
Grace Bell Collier Chambers. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife
Irene Helterbran Chambers in 1999; his sisters Brackie Walker and Paula Stevens.
He was a member of the Folsom United Methodist Church, Highland County Farm Bureau, Sinking Springs F & A.M. Lodge #365 and Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, and a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law Dan and Karen Chambers of Hillsboro;
Tim and Kathy Chambers of Hillsboro and son Kelly Chambers of Hillsboro; three brothers and Sisters-in-law, Lowell and Carolyn Chambers of Hillsboro, George E. and Jane Chambers of Hillsboro, Eldon R. and Mary Chambers of Florida. Three sisters and Son- in-Law, Rae Willis of Hillsboro, Billie Jane Smith of Hillsboro and Patricia and Paul Leach of Kentucky. Two grandchildren Timothy Joseph Chambers and Kary Beth James Tosto and one Great granddaughter Brooklyn Ileen Jean Tosto.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday August 4, 2012, at the Union Cemetery near Belfast with Pastor Ken Woleab officiating , with military honors by the Adams County Honor Guard. Arrangements under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home.
