Larry O. Mason

Larry O. Mason, 78 years of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.

He was born in Adams County, Ohio on October 2, 1926 the son of the late John T. and Esta Opal Douglas Mason.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Ohio Printing. He was a member of the NFO and AFL-CIO, where he held several offices representing employees. Bluegrass music was the love of his life. He was a member of numerous bands both in Ohio and Texas.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one infant sister, Florence Mason, and one son-in-law, David Roads.

He was united in marriage on June 26, 1957 to Alice Hadley Mason, who survives. He is also survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Richard Hiatt of New Vienna, Tammy Mason of Hillsboro, Carol and Leroy Sandy of Waynesville, Ohio, four grandchildren, Cegi Nick Birkhimer, Tiffaney Fenner, Debbie Jeff Smith, Anna Roads, four great grandchildren, Emmagry Birkhimer, Jackie Williams, Chadley Fenner, Ryan Fenner, three step children, eight step grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren, six step great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. at the Leesburg United Methodist Church with Max Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mowrystown Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Leesburg United Methodist Church.

Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
