Leander Nichols, 74 years of Hillsboro, died Thursday, August 24, 2006 at his residence.
He was born in Highland County, Ohio on February 26, 1932 the son of the late Logan and Mary Bell Perkins Nichols.
He was a member of the Byington Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Allen Nichols, who passed away on January 29, 2002, and one brother, Valentine Tiny Nichols and one sister, Lula Belle Nichols.
He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Shope of Beaver Creek, one brother, Role Nichols of Waverly, grandchildren, Patty Mike Notestine of Beaver Creek, Jason Angie McClanahan of Michigan, Ron Missy McClanahan of Springfield, 6 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren in Germany, special nephew, Ernie Nichols, and several other nieces and nephews and a special friend Jennifer Younker of Washington, C. H., also a great grandson, Rodney Huff who is serving in Iraq
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring with Jeff Irvin officiating. Burial will follow in the Washburn Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 12:00 till 2:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
